MakerSpace Movement

What is the MakerSpace?

    A MakerSpace is a place where you are free to create. Members chip in to provide tools and raw material, and then we and all comers are open to make whatever they want with what we've got. You can start up any project you'd like, and if our members have time we can lend a hand or some expertise as well. It's also fun! Imagine any crazy idea you've wanted to pursue (like making videos, creating art, building custom computers, building and using machines, starting a business, anything!), and there's a chance we can accomodate it.

The concept is built around HackerSpaces, which began when groups of like-minded guys got together for the purpose of hacking computers and coming up with amazing new software and hardware. The MakerSpace extends this concept to "hacking" and building just about anything.

Where can I learn more?

    You can get invovled right on this website if you're in the Story County area or in parts nearby, by signing up and joining in the community. We don't ask for membership fees until you are satisfied with what we're doing and you're ready to undertake a big project.
